Located in Carlsbad CA, evanhealy is a leading national organic and holistic skin care company looking for heroes to join our team.
 
We have an immediate opening for a Lab Assistant to follow proper manufacturing procedures for mixing raw materials to arrive at finished product or finished product mixers. Maintain cleanliness of lab and communicates with Production on an ongoing basis about product needs.
 
Essential duties & responsibilities:

• Complete lab assignments as posted on work board (mixing schedule)
• Follow mixing procedures per manufacturing sheets
• Learn all aspects of manufacturing according to lab protocols
• Perform lab maintenance such as receiving, labeling, distributing, and storing of raw materials
• Maintain an organized and clean lab
• Calculate in house lot #’s following protocols
• Take appropriate measures to ensure all products are checked for quality and are completed at least a day before scheduled for Production.
• Ensure manufacturing products meet quality specifications
• Produce high quality product based on SOP’s and formulas
• Record information such as Lot Number and Manufacturer information
• Work in both standard and clean room environments while adhering to room specific PPE requirements
• Safely operate both manual and automated filling equipment, as required
• Accurate completion and understanding of all formulation documents/batch records and proper labeling of all products.
• Help maintain inventory control as well as cycle counts when needed
• Initiate monthly laundry pick-up and delivery from The Washboard Laundry
• Other duties assigned by Supervisor
• Assist in other various lab activities

Skills and Requirements

• Education: High school graduate with a minimum of 1 – 2 years of college or lab experience.
• Proficient in math and writing
• Must be able to work independently or a part of a team in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Detail oriented multitasker
• Excellent organizational, planning & time management skills
• Analytical skills a plus
• Must be able to work within deadlines and budgets
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form.
• Must be able to operate power tools
• Knowledge of metric system and familiar with metrics-focused environment
• Highly motivated and dedicated
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Ability to use a scale to accurately measure ingredients
• Ability to stand for an extended period performing repetitive motions
• Maintain an organized and clean lab
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds
• Familiar with word, Excel and Google Sheets
