JOB FILLED - Production Manager

Job Description: 

Moon Valley Organics was founded in 1998. We have seen consistent double-digit growth over the last few years and 50% growth for 2020. We are preparing for our Moon Shot and are looking for a Production Manager to be a part of this exciting and accelerated growth cycle.

We have an immediate opening for Production Manager in beautiful Deming, WA only 15 miles from Bellingham.

You will manage scheduling, production runs and shipping & receiving of raw materials. You will be responsible for reviewing and managing master production schedule and work orders by establishing priorities for specific customer orders, revising schedules according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, material, machines, and equipment. Drawing up a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and order cadence.

As the Production Manager you will oversee all manufacturing of our products:

  • Soap making
  • Production of Salve, Lip Balm, and Lotion Bars
  • Honey Packaging

This is an intermediate level position requiring 1-2 years previous related experience in scheduling and production processes.

Required skills:

  • Scheduling- a team of people, production runs, and shipping/receiving of raw materials.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel), knowledge in ERP systems (QuickBooks a plus).
  • Comfortable with equipment - such as printers, line machines.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Familiar with SOP - maintaining, creating, and editing.
  • Quality control and maintain GMP standards
  • Lean manufacturing concepts a plus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacturing of products
  • Schedules and coordinates workflow within or between departments of manufacturing plant
  • Maintains and monitors inventory of materials needed to complete production
  • Schedules inbound and outbound freight orders
  • Works with inhouse import coordinator to receive overseas orders in a timely fashion
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Work with QuickBooks manufacturing inventory system to track and record inventory
  • Reporting: prepares production reports and maintenance of cleaning logs
  • Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
  • Rotate inventory according to lean manufacturing design
  • Machine maintenance
