Bubbies was Founded in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii, producing old fashioned gourmet ice cream sold in popular ice cream shops, hotels & restaurants on Oahu.  In 2002, Bubbies shifted its focus to the production of mochi ice cream.  Bubbies differentiated the product from competition by utilizing a super-premium ice cream based formulation and a flavorful/unique rice flower coating.  Bubbies was acquired in late 2016 by Kenex Holdings (Chicago, IL) with aggressive expansion plans and goals.  The new facility in Phoenix Arizona is a significant milestone to that end.
Job Description
 
Job Title:              Plant Manager, Phoenix
Department:         Operations
Reports To:          CEO (eventually VP Ops.)
 
SUMMARY:
 
Provide leadership to ensure that the plant operates efficiently while delivering quality products and superior service in a safe and challenging work environment. To support the Production Manager to ensure operational excellence in the following categories: (SQF) Safe Quality Food practice, Financial Control, Innovation, Environmental and Leadership.
 
Also, ensure compliance with all company policies, labor contracts as well as any other laws.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Support plant objectives Improve processes or operational enhancements while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee production, implementation SQF safety, inventory and shipping to ensure products are manufactured safely and efficiently with attention to delivering high quality products and delivering them on time.
  • Establish or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Ensure that performance is driven throughout the Plant and that associates are given the leadership and the tools to meet Company performance expectations.
  • Motivating and retaining a high-performing with the workforce.
  • Work “arm & arm” with Quality Assurance, implementing any mandated changes as set forth by that department as well as suggesting any changes that would require implementation.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that safety and company policies are adhered to consistently and effectively.
  • Coach and provide input to supervisors to provide quality, timely and consistent performance management reviews as well as support ongoing performance recognition as well as disciplinary action as needed.
  • Oversee all plant projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Manage Production, Sanitation, warehouse & shipping
 
QUALIFICATIONS:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Bachelor Degree preferably in Business, with or related field of study.
  • 5 years plus in manufacturing of food products (experience in ice cream and/or frozen food production strongly preferred). 
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes and best practices in safety
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost controls, inventory management, (SQF) Safe Quality Food practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building, organizational and oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual preferred (English, Spanish)
