A little about this role:

Sales/Retail Services Representatives are the face of our organization between our Independent and Chain customers and our manufacturer partners as well as the “eyes and ears” of the organization responsible for their own call cycle; writing orders, executing projects and handling resets/refreshes for principals across all categories. This full-time outside sales position is responsible for a territory and making in-person sales at their accounts, providing timely feedback to our partners, and handling resets and audits. The Sales/Retail Services Representative is in the field selling 4-5 days a week and are highly motivated, passionate and dependable individuals who are able to sell and execute initiatives successfully with a wide variety of people.

A day in the life:

  • Sales Calls and Account Development – as a Sales/Retail Services Representatives, you will take ownership of your territory and call cycle and be selling into your identified accounts as well as generating new accounts. You will be responsible for selling in new items, best sellers and voids, developing strong relationships with buyers and key store personnel, creating programs to sell product, order writing, educating store personnel, coordinating demos and other opportunities to grow your book of business at your accounts. As a Sales Representative, it’s expected that you will meet client and retailer expectations with regard to sales coverage and productivity in your assigned territory. Travel is required for face- to- face meetings with accounts in your territory, additional travel may be required.
  • Communication is key – you are expected to have value-added, solution-oriented, positive and timely communication (both internally and externally), adhering to national communication standards and directives.
  • Analytics – knowing your business and finding opportunities is key to driving sales. Understanding and utilizing data such as SPINS, Nielsen, Power BI, store level void reports and distributor data is an important aspect to reach our sales goals and meet manufacturer expectations within your accounts.
  • Retail Detail –You will also be responsible for checking shelf tags, rotating stock, applying POS and coupons where allowed, auditing pricing, performing brand audits, reporting on promotional execution, performing resets, and sharing the competitive landscape.
  • Audits and Photos – Utilize a variety of tools to audit store-level conditions and report back to our principals, including survey apps, shared files, and photos.

What we are looking for:

  • Due to the nature of this role, it is required to live in the assigned territory and meet in-person with retailers, brands, coworkers and visit stores.
  • Self-starter with strong sales skills or experience/ Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
  • Travel is necessary, Clean driving record, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current insurance is required
  • Interest in natural/organic food and products
  • Flexibility to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines
  • Ability to lift 40lbs

 

Salary: Full time position, salary commensurate with level of experience, location and current market landscape
