JOB FILLED - Account Manager

Job Description: 

This territory will cover the following: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland County, lower half of Connecticut including RT 95 up to Rhode Island and RT 15 corridor up to New Haven.

 

 
The Account Manager is responsible for building the Natural Factors brand and sales in the assigned geographical territory. The Account Manager must work well with others, have integrity, a positive attitude, and strong consultative selling skills. Successful Account Managers deliver exceptional customer service and are expected to maintain a productive routing plan, strategically plan account visits while engaging in activities that foster territory success. This includes relationship-building, education, shelf expansion and merchandising, successful store demos and events, while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven Core Values such as Sustainability (people, the planet, and profit) in the planning and implementation of all actions related to the area of responsibility.

Sales

  • Regularly meet or exceed sales targets
  • Develop coverage and call plans for each customer
  • Maintain an effective call routing schedule
  • Maintain awareness of competitive activities and pricing strategies, communicate key findings
  • Plan product demonstrations and/or strategic demo planning
  • Regularly evaluate effectiveness of pricing and promotions strategy 
  • Diligent follow-through on initiatives for internal and external customers
  • Brand and Product fluency
  • Expand and optimize Natural Factors’ presence in retail accounts
  • Educate identified key influencers on brand and product strengths
  • Conduct retail staff trainings
  • Develop new business, always look for volume opportunities
  • Understand e-commerce and MAP policy 
  • Adhere to all directives and defined initiatives
  • Utilize available reports for strategic planning
  • Adhere to all company and sales policies

Customer Focus

  • Provide exceptional customer service and follow-through
  • Develop top-to-top relationships with assigned Key Accounts and their associated staff 
  • Ensure that customers are current on Natural Factors products, policies, etc.
  • Provide “Value Added” service to all customers
  • Be accessible to customers at all times
  • Teamwork and Communication
  • Participate in team conference calls, webinars and events as requested
  • Keep all appropriate management fully informed as to local issues, risks, opportunities, action plans, etc.
  • Keep fully informed of company goals, direction, policies, procedures, marketing programs, etc.
  • Provide input to ensure that marketing programs, visual aids, promotional items, etc, are the most effective possible for building the business and maintaining high levels of customer service.

Territory Administration

  • Pre-plan all account visits to identify opportunities and activities that will fuel growth
  • Maintain accuracy of basic customer information (name, address, contact info, specialty interests, etc.)
  • Maximize office time for planning and essential admin work
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and on time (reports, requests for responses)
  • Complete Expense reports as per company guidelines
  • Utilize the established company procedures for the ordering of required business supplies
  • Maintain Company equipment in excellent working order
  • Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company policies and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical

  • A proven record of sales accomplishment 
  • Sales experience in the Dietary supplement health products industry 
  • Demonstrated professional growth in both current and previous sales performance positions 
  • Strong business and math skills and an understanding of profit margins and discounts 
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and, if needed for travel to Canada, the ability to have a passport (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  • Effective communicator, exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel

Additional Preferred Requirements: 

  • 5 years of sales experience
  • 8+ years of working experience
  • Proven experience having established relationships and experience working in the Natural products retail trade
