We are seeking a Senior Sales Executive to join our team from a Remote capacity.
The Senior Sales Executive is an semi-autonomous, results-oriented individual contributor responsible for managing existing customer accounts and developing new sales opportunities across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in botanical sales and sourcing, with a strong network in one or more of the following sectors: supplements, tea, pet food, flavorings/seasonings, or natural products.
This role is independent and self-led, with access to Mueggenburg USA’s documentation, logistics, QA systems, and supply chain relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and grow a portfolio of high-value accounts across targeted industries.
- Build long-term partnerships with customers by providing product knowledge, technical support, and responsive service.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts aligned with company objectives.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities with private label manufacturers, co-packers, and direct brands.
- Prospect and qualify new leads through trade shows, industry events, referrals, and cold outreach.
- Collaborate with internal QA, logistics, and operations teams to ensure smooth order execution, documentation, and communication.
- Coordinate with global sourcing teams to align customer demand with available supply.
- Stay informed on trends, pricing, regulatory updates, and new product developments in herbs, spices, and botanical ingredients.
- Monitor competitor activity and relay strategic insights to leadership.
- Manage all aspects of the sales process from lead to invoice, including forecasting, quoting, order placement, and issue resolution.
- Monitor receivables and support collections in coordination with the finance team.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in B2B ingredient sales with a focus on herbs, spices, botanicals, or natural products.
- Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and technical product documentation (e.g. CoAs, spec sheets, certifications).
- Demonstrated success in an independent, remote, or self-managed role.
- Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and basic document handling.
Preferred Attributes
- Existing network in supplement, pet food, tea, or seasoning manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of product quality standards, FDA/USDA/EU regulations, and global sourcing.
- Strong communicator with a solutions-oriented mindset and high attention to detail.
- Capable of managing complex sales cycles involving regulatory and technical buyers.
Work Environment & Travel
- Remote-first with flexible scheduling.
- Occasional travel to customer locations, trade shows, or Mueggenburg facilities (~20–30%).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Incentives: Performance-based commission or bonus plan
