Green Spoon Sales is looking for a positive, passionate, and detail-oriented Key Account Manager – UNFI located remotely.
The Distributor Key Account Manager is responsible for developing the business at UNFI for our brand partners and supporting our Distributor Relations Team. The individual must be able to meet and exceed department goals related to building the business. The Distributor Key Account Manager provides direct oversight and management to all day-to-day business for our brands at the UNFI headquarter level. As a Key Account Manager, this person must be able to work interdepartmentally to resolve issues and find mutually beneficial solutions to grow the business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Help facilitate relationships with all distributor contacts, including Supplier Managers/ Merchandisers, Category Managers, IPAR, Supply Chain Management, Coding, Accounts Payable, Events, tabletop, IBL, and Ad Teams
- Submit and assist with new vendor on-boarding
- General understanding of supplier agreements and other onboarding forms, nuances, and protocol
- Knowledge of current supplier policies, agreement, and logistic guidelines
- Process vendor changes (warehouse changes, remit changes, and other corporate updates)
- Pricing and freight guidance: Delivered, FOB, freight allowances, booked freight guidance
- Monitor and review distributor policies and procedures
- Understanding of relevant supplier and customer portals
- Load all new/seasonal items/shippers
- Process pack changes, price changes, discos, and all spec/item changes
- Communicate to trade and relevant Green Spoon contacts
- Ensure all certifications are current
- Assist with Annual Promotional Planning
- Arrange calls, build planners, submit finalized programming throughout the year based on deadlines
- Strong understanding of UNFI Programs, marketing vehicles, policies, and Ad Agreement
- Utilize and become familiar with all reporting suites for Green Spoon and our supplier partners
- Ensure all promotional calendars are aligned between Distributor Team and Promo/ KAM Team
- Utilize available platforms to optimize performance and potential for each brand and Distribution Center
- Follow up with buyers regarding PO revisions and supply issues
- Transportation/fill-rate issues: work with distributor contacts to minimize retailer service-level issues and optimize item availability and sales
- Stay updated on distributor sales/marketing vehicles and general updates
- Coordinate participation at distributor shows: registration, dates, pre-and post-show communications by distributing contact lists, show deals, powerpoints, and sales recaps
- If applicable, prepare and present at sales and vendor meetings
- Assist in direction for deduction resolution and dispute process
- Must be willing and able to travel to industry events and shows
Qualifications & Skills
- College degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Must have 2-5 years of previous sales experience.
- Knowledge of brokerage business and relationship to Principals and overall business
- Self-motivated
- Quick response time
- Strong communication, problem-solving and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams & Zoom
- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in organic food and products
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must own a smartphone and computer to perform duties
- Green Spoon supplies Microsoft Office Suite
- Natural food and grocery experience required
