The Eastern Regional Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales, Distribution Channel and partners closely with the sales team to drive company strategic sales initiatives and meet revenue goals. They support the development of sales growth plans and profitability goals, performs retailer analysis, and recommends best practices to continually improve sales performance. This position helps to create alignment by effectively engaging broker teams in planning and focusing organizational resources on top priorities. 

The Eastern Regional Sales Manager is also responsible for the development and performance of sales initiatives in the Eastern U.S. in the Natural and Conventional retail channel. They oversee broker teams and provides leadership to achieve assigned quarterly sales goals while maintaining company margin requirements.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in project management, CPG experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn and goal-oriented with strong time-management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, G Suite, PM software/tools and ERP systems. Asana and NetSuite preferred but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Diligent and assertive to drive process.
  • Flexible and adaptive to proactively manage changes.
  • Engaged to identify and manage project risks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across many internal functioning groups.

  • PMP certification and/or SCRUM management experience is a bonus.
Responsibilities & Duties: 

The Project Manager reports to the Senior Director of Product Development and partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive company's strategic planning process and initiatives.  They will help enhance business value by managing cross functional projects from concept to launch.  The Project Manager will be responsible to lead the go to market process: planning, coordinating, and tracking timelines/calendars for all launches and initiatives, while holding the team accountable to ensure deliverables are completed on time.

They will coordinate with different departments (Product Development, Research & Development, Supply Chain, Planning, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, and Creative) and help them manage their individual task lists throughout the development life cycle.

In addition to tracking progress on projects and helping teams meet their weekly task deadlines, the Project Manager will also assess overall risk to each project's launch deadline. They will coordinate with departmental partners to evaluate and propose solutions to risk by elevating key issues, generating expected outcomes, and making recommendations to management.

The project manager’s performance will be evaluated based on product launch timeliness, problem solving, BOM accuracy and success of collaboration/communication with cross functional teammates.

Project Management

  • Using PM software, develop calendar and timelines for new products and retail marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure critical milestones, key interdependencies and resource constraints are updated in PM software timelines.
  • Manage and communicate project statuses and timelines.
  • Escalate delays and issues to the team as necessary, ensuring proactive communication.
  • Prioritize tasks, adjust workflow, and partner cross-functionally with teams to move projects forward.
  • Lead cross functional team meetings to drive and track progress for all active projects making sure key deliverables are completed on time.
  • Maintain team accountability for deliverables.
  • Deliver transparent, timely, and effective communication to team members, departments, and any participating stakeholders.
  • Continually seek opportunities to optimize project workflows.
  • Work creatively and analytically to problem-solve while demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Create new SOPs as needed encouraging continuous improvement to internal process.

Product Development

  • Manage new SKU specification sheets and product specification communication.
  • Confirm and sign off on all product specifications on Sales sell sheets.
  • Input product specifications into the NPI and NetSuite. 
  • Manage new item set up in NetSuite: set up new item ID’s, packaging components, BOM’s, and coordinate sign-off by department leads. 
  • Manage UPC/GTIN log and UPC/GTIN communication.
  • Schedule and create PowerPoint for New Product Launch meetings.
  • Point person for First Run Packaging Specification Approval process.
  • Coordinate gold sample hand off to manufacturing for all new products. 
  • Coordinate and prepare product samples for sales submissions as directed by the Product & Commercialization Manager.
  • Fill out “Inhouse Packaging Compatibility Submissions Form” and organize packaging samples needed to complete stability testing or external certification testing.
  • Ensure testing gets done on-time and in-line with key calendar milestones. 
  • Fill out and send creative request forms.
  • Coordinate line trials/manufacturability testing, pilot batch and preproduction runs.
  • Manage new case creation, coordinate third party testing (FFP/SIOC), and vendor related package testing.
