Fast growing natural and organic food company seeking highly qualified Food Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the overall quality and safety of our food products. The right professional will be responsible for ensuring that our food products meet our strict QA standards as well as all standards established by regulatory authorities. Additionally the QA Manager will develop and review food quality and food safety policies, manage audits by third-party inspectors and review and inspect our co-packers and raw material suppliers. Responsibilities will include review of our customer feedback and respond to any concerns and or complaints. The QA Manager will prepare reports and maintain all inspection and quality assurance records as well as recall/trace-back protocols. The right individual must be knowledgeable about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations. QA Manager will be expected to be familiar with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the standards set by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI). The minimum educational requirements are a bachelor's degree in a food-related discipline, such as food science, microbiology, chemistry or food industry management. Previous experience working in the food industry, with a particular emphasis on supervisory experience preferred. Competitive salary Some travel required. Job is based in Northern NJ.
