Part-time Product Specialist / Staff Writer Position

We are Healthy Habits (www.HealthyHabits.com), a 24+ year-old brand with a sales office located in Tempe,
AZ.
Our mission is to deliver effective health and wellness products to our middle-aged and senior customers, so
they are optimally healthy as they age. We are an entrepreneurial group of passionate team members who have forged a growing, customer-focused company that delivers a portfolio of supplement and topical products that our customers love and rely on.
This is a remote, part-time position that reports to the CEO. We offer a flexible schedule that will be negotiated to meet our mutual needs and priorities. Our preference is that you invoice us as an outside contractor, but we are open to hiring you into the company if you prefer provided you live in Arizona. Optionally, you can work out of our Tempe, AZ. office should you desire.
The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented and a creative thinker, who can exercise good judgment, effective communication, initiative, and timely follow through. This role has the potential to expand; and as such, creativity and initiative are encouraged.
Training will be provided by the current Product Specialist.
Tasks:
- Write (DSHEA-compliant) descriptive promotional and educational materials for website product pages, product labels, mail-order catalogues and mail pieces as needed.
- Collaborate with our Quality Control and Compliance Manager on legal and supplier related product quality, product information and labelling matters.
- Educate the Customer Service team on new, updated, or discontinued products in writing via bulletins.
- Provide the CEO and purchaser with formula proposals for new products and potential sources.
- Create, maintain, and update related spreadsheets and Dropbox.
- Participate in scheduled monthly online team meetings.
- Prepare and present short PowerPoint training courses for the monthly meetings on an as needed basis.
- Have an “editor’s eye” -- monitor the website, product pages and print materials for errors, typos, or other issues.
- Stay abreast of industry-related news, new products, research, and ingredient-related issues, and communicate relevant info to company stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional team members.
Ideal Skills and Abilities:
- Product knowledge and in-depth understanding of nutrition, natural supplements and natural skin care ingredients and formulations.
- A degree in the Nutrition or Naturopathic field is preferred, but not required.
- Real-life professional experience educating people about nutrition, nutrients, herbs, and other natural ingredients is valued.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and via the written word in an easy-to-understand manner.
- You should enjoy conducting ongoing research and actively learning about nutrition and natural health.
- Excellent reading comprehension and a good memory is advantageous.
- Must have a strong desire to assist our customers so they can enjoy a healthy life at any age.
- Must be accountable, dependable, strive for excellence and not have any conflicts of interest.
- Must have an enthusiasm for nutritional supplementation and a healthy lifestyle.
- Strong computer and typing skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and manage your time effectively.
- Must be a team player, while also being assertive, friendly, and collaborative.
- Should be forthcoming with new ideas and open to new ideas..
