Batterton Brokerage Inc. was founded in 1996 as a natural products brokerage company specializing in natural and organic products. Our company represents select natural, grocery, specialty, lifestyle, health, and beauty care product manufacturers. We only represent companies that use premium natural ingredients in their products. These companies have strict environmental standards, practice fair trade, and use recycled and recyclable packaging when possible.

Batterton Brokerage Inc. is looking for an experienced sales representative to join our team. We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter who is looking to grow the Pacific Northwest region. Preferably – the successful candidate lives in the greater Seattle area.

The responsibility of this position is to grow sales for four companies that Batterton Brokerage Inc. represents in the Pacific Northwest area by maintaining relationships with existing customers and seeking new sales opportunities. This position is full-time salaried position with health benefits, a company car, as well as many opportunities for spiffs and bonuses. While receiving lots of support from the home office, the employee will approach their sales work through self-motivated means and independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Present, promote, and sell products to existing and prospective customers.
  • New Sales and Market Development: Prospecting, evaluating, negotiating, proposing and closing new accounts. Includes cold-calling prospective new accounts.
  • Manage, qualify and prioritize incoming sales inquiries.
  • Account Management: Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Understand customers’ needs and problem solve. Maintain and deepen relationships with current customers.
  • Customer Service: Answering calls, taking accurate orders, responding to customer inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • General merchandising including cleaning and stocking displays and testers, and participating in resets and new store openings.
  • Participate in staff, team, departmental and educational trainings.
  • Accountable for individual sales goals.
  • Monthly and yearly promotional planning and submission.
  • Reviewing reports to strategize new item presentations, line extensions, and category review meetings, fill voids, etc.
  • Attend sales meetings as well as participate in trade shows and other trade association events; attend occasional social events with vendors/accounts outside of normal business hours.
  • Coordinate and lead market tours with vendors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years sales experience in the Natural Products Industry.
  • Self-starter with strong sales and merchandising skills.
  • High level of motivation and strong work ethic.
  • Proficient in computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate well and problem solve with customers, team members and staff.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to manage time and organize priorities.
  • Knowledge and passion about the natural products industry (especially supplements and body care).
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability, willingness (and enjoyment) of travel.
  • Flexibility and willingness to continuously learn by experience.
  • Ability and willingness to explore other markets – our company is expanding into Gourmet and Grocery and we would like someone who has experience across the board.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with highly developed social skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and switch gears frequently.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and accept constructive feedback.
  • Home office space with internet access and cell phone required.
  • Able to accommodate and handle car stock inventory, samples, literature and merchandising collateral in home space.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance required.
  • Applicant should live in or around the Seattle area and enjoy driving and travel.
  • Applicant must be fully vaccinated (Vaccinated + Booster) against COVID 19
