Job Description: 

The Brand Manager- Nutraceuticals is a dynamic strategic marketing position that is responsible for managing multiple brands within a global portfolio.  This position has responsibility for creating and executing marketing plans throughout the product life cycle of our branded ingredients.  Additionally, this position will develop and carryout strategies to support regional marketing initiatives in an effort to grow our brands globally.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for managing assigned global product lines by applying strategic and creative marketing principles to achieve business goals and objectives. Outlined below are a few key functional responsibilities:

  • Business Growth: Provide marketing expertise, materials, support and education to the global commercial teams for successful sales outcomes.Co-develop customer strategies to achieve business goals. Implement and measure key performance indicators.
  • Strategic Marketing: Managing through strategic marketing principles to capture and sustain market share, defining unique product positioning, and approach to entering new markets where market and competitor analysis, customer segmentation and insights.
  • Brand Development: Develop and manage a consistent corporate brand image throughout product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Marketing Communications: Consult with global commercial teams to develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans for assigned products. Manage advertising, media relations, and promotion activities to support business objectives.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market analysis to monitor global markets, competitive products, sales, market share and marketing activities; deploy category knowledge and understanding to the management of product lines.
  • Innovation: Lead cross-functional product category innovation and development discussions for assigned Participate in the Product Innovation Process through new product concept submissions as well as championing products through the process to launch. Partner with Research and Development and Technical Services to further strengthen product story through product research initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross functional teams to prepare plans for additional science to support product line growth and sustainability.
  • Work with regulatory affairs to prepare and execute plans that support market expansion.
  • Coordinate product application studies with R&D and prepare technical bulletins to expand use of products into new forms.
  • Work with Operations to ensure inventory levels match expected product demand.
  • Train sales staff on product(s).

Qualifications

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with 5-7 years of related experience or a Bachelor Degree, preferably in Marketing, or one of the life sciences, (specific science background is dependent upon position/product focus), with 7-10 years of related experience;
  • 2+ years product management experience
  • Experience managing marketing campaigns
  • Maintain industry knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated achievement of product sales objectives and financial targets.
  • Background must include strategic marketing experience. 
  • Must have a solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, energetic, business-minded manager with a broad scientific/technical aptitude knowledge base who is able to provide product leadership, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and meet timetables leading to the attainment of growth goals.
  • Experience as an effective product manager, project team player, leader and motivator; and the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with customers, peers and all levels of management.
  • Strong cross functional team, leadership and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong financial skills; especially the ability to understand financial statements and to analytically evaluate and understand product costs, margin, pricing and market share.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Requires a marketing mentality combined with marketing training and experience as it relates to marketing products in the industry.
  • Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all aspects.
  • International experience highly desired.
