JOB FILLED - Director of Sales - Eastern US

Job Description: 

Enzymedica is a leader in the dietary supplement space, and we are currently seeking a Director of Sales for the Eastern US. This role is responsible for leading, coaching, and inspiring assigned sales representatives (mixture of employee account executives and independent contractor brokers) to achieve assigned revenue targets. The Director will be crucial in implementing strategies that support revenue and product placement goal objectives, maintaining regional budgets, developing personnel, and providing feedback to executive leadership.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with VP of Sales to develop annual sales plan for designated territories.
  • Execute company territory sales management system and coaching utilizing specific performance measures to cultivate proficiencies of assigned sales reps and ensure their achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual growth targets.
  • Manage direct reports for efficient and effective account coverage for all accounts within assigned region including ensuring the establishment of a regular call cycle and the use of CRM tools.
  • Conducts in-person “ride-withs” with direct reports to ensure compliance of sales system, gauge sales rep performance, on-board new account executives, understand real-time market trends, and assist with key customer interactions.
  • Ensure sales reps’ effective and efficient utilization of all marketing collateral/tools.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings (phone, Zoom, or in-person) with sales reps to ensure implementation of territory sales plans and to coordinate efforts of sales team.
  • Conduct and review market, customer, and competitive analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules and discount rates, promotional vehicles, and optimal merchandising. Ensure successful execution of sales campaigns.
  • Represent Company at industry association meetings, trade shows, and various events as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner and act as liaison between sales and other internal departments.
  • Prepare and present sales reports for Company Executive Team and VP of Sales as necessary and at Company meetings, to include bi-monthly strategy meetings with executive leadership.
  • Keep Company aware of market and account trends and report on competitive issues/news as necessary.
  • Lead in hiring, training, and evaluation of sales reps in assigned territory.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Candidates must be located in the Eastern part of the US, or be open to relocation to this territory.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Five years’ previous sales management experience required.
  • Must possess understanding and make practical use of sales skills and processes.
  • Must have experience analyzing market and customers and possess the ability to make business recommendations and contribute to broader sales strategy.
  • Must be able to work in times of high stress.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time and be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to work a flexible fulltime schedule, including some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position, which include daily travel and at least 50% overnight travel.
