Job Description:
Our family-run, growing health food store is seeking a qualified candidate to work in our organic cafe. This job would be full-time and requires working Saturdays. Approximately 35+ hours per week. Must be available to start immediately.
Duties would include (but are not limited to):
- Prepare homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, fresh juices and smoothies to order
- Taste your food to ensure quality & consistency, including meats such as tuna and chicken
- Maintain clean work environment, which requires cleaning as you work and after shifts
- Being able to duplicate and follow existing recipes and procedures
- Label, date and cover all food to meet safe health standards and practices
- Manage and track inventory
- Ensure compliance with all Florida Health codes and maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Monitor and report food loss
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Cafe Manager, Store Manager or Owners
Must Have:
- 1-3 yrs culinary restaurant kitchen/café experience. Organic/natural experience preferred.
- Able to perform physical requirements of an "on your feet" and fast paced job
- Excellent understanding of quality, scratch food production
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize and organize within a kitchen environment
- Strong knife and general kitchen skills
- Punctual, self-motivated individual who can multi-task and preform under pressure
- Team player with “can-do" & friendly personality providing excellent customer service
Starting wage commensurate with experience. Tips are also a part of compensation.
