Job Description: The operations manager will be responsible for all aspects of procurement, baking/manufacturing, packing and shipping in a fast-paced, growth-driven start up food company. The role includes direct oversight of a commercial kitchen (staffing, scheduling, implementation of best practices and quality standards, safety). The operations manager must be skilled at working with a diverse work force, possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to apply data-driven, fact-based logic to solve many complex day-to-day and strategic issues.
Objective: To develop, implement and efficiently manage the entire supply chain.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Operational P & L responsibility
- Create and implement SOPs

Production scheduling and capacity planning
- Ongoing cost reduction, supplier management, and automation
- Raw material and packaging procurement
- Inventory control to include lot trace
- Receiving, warehousing, shipping and logistics
- Customer order fulfillment
- Production, including maintenance and sanitation
- Production efficiency, cost containment, and waste reduction
- Design and implement quality assurance programs
- Safety and security
- Human resources with regards to production personnel
- Other various responsibilities that come with an early stage operation
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates Degree (Bachelor's degree, preferred)

3-5 years experience in baking food manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 2 years experience at a manager level in a food manufacturing environment
Knowledge and Skill Required:
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)
- A passion for success with a "can-do", whatever it takes attitude and approach towards daily tasks required to grow the business
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Demonstrated people and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize daily assignments to meet deadlines
- Assertive, confident and decisive with attention to detail to ensure accurate work
- Self motivation and the ability to work effectively with a minimum of direct oversight
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Forklift certification a plus
- Spanish literacy a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
